Creative Soapbox Goes To NYC

When the Creative Soapbox team headed to New York City for the 2011 ExpressionEngine / CodeIgniter Conference, we wanted a way to share our experiences with our clients and colleagues back home.

Description //

We decided to experiment with Google Maps, plotting sites we’d seen, great restaurants and other memorable experiences. We started by utilizing the WordPress platform, specifically their mobile app that captures geolocation data. Posts were plotted on a map of New York City, then matched up with related Flickr photos and tweets pulled in via JSONĀ feeds. Friends following along could view our adventures by location on the big map or in a waterfall display that populated on the fly.

Custom lettering for t-shirts and the site, inspired by historical typography found in New York
